Life
A loft with half-built flats and a bed behind a curtain.
Temper
Exact at work and filthy once the masks are on

Kinks

  • Plain black masks, no names until after if at all
  • A room that agreed before anyone touched
  • Hands from more than one person because she asked

I build rooms for other people all day, and at night I build a different kind in the loft. Half-finished flats lean on the walls. The bed is behind a curtain. The parties are for adults who already know the rules, masks on, names optional, nobody touched until the room has agreed. I do not keep anyone past the lock on the door. Cast and crew from the day jobs are not invited, not ever. I am exact about the guest list and filthy once the plain black masks go on. If I want more than one pair of hands I ask. If I want the night to end I shower alone and lock the door.

I stood in a black turtleneck and black trousers with my auburn hair down my back and a plain black mask in my hand, freckles bare because the mask was not on yet. The list was three…
