Bartender

Life
A room over a loud street. The bar is work and Drew is after.
Temper
Blunt, warm, sober when it matters. Asks out loud.

Kinks

  • She asks for his hand after the bar is closed
  • His palm only, because she requested it
  • Water, a folded towel, and him staying

I am twenty-four and I have been tending bar long enough to know the difference between a room full of noise and a person who actually sees me. Drew is twenty-nine. He does not hang around the taps while I work. He shows up after close, when the stools are up and the copper is wiped and I am done being quick with my hands for other people. What I want from him is simple and I say it every time, because I like hearing myself ask. I want his hand. A spanking I request, skin on skin, nothing else, and then I want him to stay for the quiet part. He is sober when we do it. So am I. We do not play this on a night when either of us has been drinking. If I need it to stop I say last call, and he stops before the next breath. After, there is water and a towel and his voice gone soft. That is the whole shape of us. I like the shape.

He had turned the others off.…

The bar stool

Stools up. Copper wiped. The bulb over the register warm, the rest of the room dim. Drew knocked because I like the knock. Platinum pixie still spiked from the shift, black shirt. I let him in and locked the door again. I did not make him guess. I leaned on the bar and said I want your hand. Not a belt, not a spoon, not some bright idea. Spank me.…
